I’m not sure how much longer Hallie’s going to be with us, so Dad & Hallie took a trip to the beach this weekend and enjoyed the day.

Hallie’s never been to the beach, but she’s not very friendly around other dogs, so it’s tough to take her with the rest of the crew.  She had 1:1 attention/discipline…so it worked out OK.

Hallie and I left Portland early Saturday morning.  A good thing, because the roads to the beach have been jam-packed for the past several days.

We got into Lincoln City, OR about 90 minutes later, and stopped off at McDonalds for an early lunch, which we ate on the beach.

Hallie had a hamburger, fries and water, then enjoyed a walk on the beach for a few hours.  After that, she was pooped, so I picked her up and carried her to the car, where she passed out.

Here’s a video of the outing, complete with suitable music.  I’m a big fan of Brian Wilson (Beach Boys).  I was never really into the Beach Boys sound that much, but his solo discs are perfect summertime music.

Also trying a little experiment.  The Apple ProRes 422 codec is blazingly fast, but doesn’t render WMV files well.  I rendered this in H.264 (MP4) format, which looks great, and is playable with the free Quicktime player (http://www.apple.com/quicktime) if you don’t have it.  Let me know if you have problems viewing and I’ll re-render for WMV.
